卓球と大学 (Table tennis and universities)

今、宿題やってる途中です。退屈で気が散る〜！

今日も、ブログの名前どおり「なんとなく」な一日でした。特別なことは何もなし・・・。体育のクラスでは卓球やってます。私はスポーツ全般がとても苦手で、体育の時間は結構嫌いです。運動神経が悪いので。陸上系（長距離、短距離、幅跳びとか）は得意なんですが、いわゆるボールを使ったスポーツが苦手なんです。サッカーやバレーはまだいい方ですが、バスケ、ゴルフ、卓球などは非常に苦手です。今日も、クラス中に二人ずつペアになって五分間のミニ試合をしたんですけど、やった試合四つとも惨敗しました、はい・・・。悲しいです〜！友達も私が卓球が苦手なことはわかってくれているんですが、それでもやっぱりはずかしいです。どうにかならないかな・・・？？？

ところで、今、私の学校ではどこの大学に入れたか、と十二年生達（日本でいう高校三年生）が大騒ぎしています（私はインターナショナル・スクールに通っているので・・・）。アメリカやカナダの高校では、大学に行くために十二年生（高三）になると、今まで高校で取ってきた成績、先生の推薦、論文などを行きたい大学に送り、後は大学からの合格通知を待つんです。なのでもちろん成績が良くないといい大学には行けません。私は今十年生、日本でいう高校一年生なので、大学を決めるまで一年少しあります。こうやって考えると、あっという間です！今からドキドキしてきました・・・。行きたい大学に入れなかったらどうしよう？？実は、私たち十年生は二ヶ月くらい前にもうすでに先生と進路を決めてあるんです・・・。とりあえず親の（と私の）希望で物理、化学、レベルの高い数学を取って理数系に進むことにしたんですが、けっこうハイレベルな授業ばかりなのでちょっと心配です。まあ、がんばるしかないですけどね。

じゃあこれで宿題に戻ります！また今度！

Bored and tired of doing my homework..... Nothing special today. 

We have table tennis in PE class right now, and I suck.  I suck at every kind of sports there is, but I feel like table tennis is my worst sport ever. If it comes so easily to my friends, why doesn't it come easily to me to~~??? God I hate PE. 

All the seniors are talking about which university they got into and all that stuff. One of them got into Yale! I'm a sophomore right now, so I have a year and a half to decide where I want to go. I want to go to an university in the US, the UK, or Canada. Right now, I'm looking into UBC, UT, and McGill, but I'm not sure. I'm really scared about not getting into any universities!!! I'm sure that happens to some people (right?)... For my IB classes next year (my school goes by the IB system), I took Physics SL, Chem HL, and Math HL...all the really difficult classes!!! I want to become a doctor, so I had to take those classes. I'm going to suffer a lot next year...I hope I'll survive!

ミウの歌 ~love of siam~

 

           

今、結構はまってる「ミウの歌～love of siam～」というタイの映画があります！ものすごくいい映画です！

バンコクに住むトンとミウは大の親友。が、ある日、トンの姉、タンが友達と遊びにいったまま行方不明になってしまう。それをきっかけにトンの一家は引っ越してしまい、トンとミウは離ればなれになってしまう。

それから六年後、高校三年生になったミウ（ウィウィシット・ヒランヤウォンクン）はある日、サイアム・スクエアで偶然トン（マリオ・マウラー）と再会する。トンは失踪した姉を探して苦しみアルコールに走る父親や家族、形ばかりの彼女のことで悩み、 ミウは所属するバンド「August」のデビューで必要なラブソングが作れないことで悩んでいた。 そんな二人は再会によってお互いに対する気持ちが次第に大きくなっていく。その愛情は友情と愛情の間をいったりきたり・・・。

映画を通して流れるミウのバンド、augustの音楽がとてもすてきです！とくに主題歌の「ガン・レ・ガン」は最高です。タイ語なので、意味はわかりませんが聞いているだけでもメロディがよくて、ジーンときました。

映画の中でとくに好きなキャラクターはミウに片思いする少女、インです。友達から借りた恋を成就させるためのおまじないの本を参考にして、ミウに振り向いてもらおうとする姿がものすごくかわいい。私もそういえば一回そんなことをしたことがあるような・・・。

ミウのトンへの思いを察して、自分の気持ちを隠して二人の橋渡し役をつとめるイン。私がインの立場だったら、そんなことできるかな？自分の好きな人の願いを叶えてあげたい、そう思って自分のミウへの気持ちを隠してまでトンをミウのところに導いたインはすごいと思います。やっと二人の仲立ちを終えた後に思わず泣いてしまうシーンには心を打たれました。よくがんばったね、インなら絶対またすてきな人に出会えると思うよ、といってあげたい気持ちになりました。

それにしても、主役のトン（マリオ・マウラー）とミウ（ウィウィシット・ヒランヤウォンクン）、かっこいい！じつは、この映画を見たきっかけは学校に半分タイ人の友人がいて、彼女がマリオを紹介してくれたからなんです。かっこいいな～、と思ったので調べてみるとこの映画に出ていることがわかりました。マリオはお父様がドイツ人で、お母様がタイ系中国人だそうです。ウィウィシットのニックネームはピッチ(pchy, pitch)らしいです。歌、ものすごく上手いですね。声を聞いてるだけで気持ちがいいです！マリオを紹介してくれた友達と映画を観たんですが、もう立派に二人ともマリオ＆ピッチファンです！

「ミウの歌」は今まで見た中で一番の映画かもしれません。皆さんももしよければ、観てください！一番下に予告編をつけておきます！

Hi! I'm really into this Thai movie called "The Love of Siam" right now! Its's a fantastic movie! 

Tong and Mew are best friends and live in Bangkok. One day, Tong's sister, Tang, goes to Chiang Mai alone to see her friends. However, a few days later, it is revealed that she might be lost. Devastated, Tong's family decides to move somewhere else. Tong looks back from the car to see Mew crying for loading his best friend. 

Six years pass, and the boys are reunited in the Siam Square in their senior year. Mew (Witwisit Hiranyawongkul, or Pict, Pchy) has become a vocalist of a boy band named August, while Tong (Mario Maurer) is troubled with his alcoholic father who blames himself for losing Tang, and the strained relationship with his pretty girlfriend. The meeting stirs up old feelings that Mew has harbored for Tong for many years. 

August's music is fantastic! I love the theme song, "Gun Lae Gun." It's in Thai, so I don't know the full meaning of the song, but the melody speaks for itself. It's a beautiful song. 

The character that I love the most in the movie is Ying, who has a crush on Mew. I love how she borrows a book full of spells to make Mew fall in love with her (I've done that once too…lol). In the end, Ying accepts the fact that Mew loves Tong, and guides Tong to Mew's live concert. I don't think I'd be able to do that if I were in her place. I think it's really cool how she was able to accept that fact that her crush loves someone else and actually help them fall in love…Wow. I bet she'll fall in love with someone really nice soon…

Mario and Pchy are so hot!!!!! The main reason I watched this movie is because I have a friend at school who introduced me to Mario. I googled him, and found out that he had a major role in "The Love of Siam", so I watched it. I personally think Mario is one of the hottest guys I have ever seen. Pchy has such a great voice! I became a really big fan of the two of them! 

I think "The Love of Siam" is one of the best movies I have ever seen! If you haven't seen it already, you should watch it!
